    Frequently asked questions

    How is my GPA calculated?

GPA = Σ(grade points × credits) ÷ Σ(credits). Every US university publishes its own grade-point scale (what an A-, B+ etc. is worth) — pick your school and this calculator uses the exact official table instead of a generic guess.

What if my school uses E instead of F?

Several schools (for example Arizona State and the University of Florida) record failures as E. It works exactly like an F — 0 grade points — and our school pages handle it automatically.

Do Pass/Fail courses count toward GPA?

Usually not — most registrars exclude P/F courses from the GPA calculation, but the rules differ by school. Check the school notes on your school’s page, and always confirm standing with your registrar.

    Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser; saved calculations live in localStorage on your device and never leave it.
